Editor layout
The post editor is a full-screen experience focused on writing:
- Top bar: Slash logo, Cancel Edits (returns you to the Posts list), your post title in the center, and Publish on the right.
- Canvas: A centered column where your blocks stack vertically—similar in spirit to the profile editor.
- Authoring toolbar (footer): Add block types, apply formatting, and toggle light/dark editing theme.
Title
Click the title area to edit inline. Press Enter to finish and move into the body. If you leave the title empty, Slash can derive a title from your first heading block when the post is saved.
Blocks and slash commands
Each paragraph or element lives in a block. Start from the empty state, or type / to open the slash menu and insert block types (for example headings, dividers, or media where supported).
Use the + or block actions in the authoring toolbar to add blocks without the keyboard.
Text formatting
Select text inside a block and use the toolbar for bold, italic, underline, and related styles. Keyboard shortcuts match common editors:
- Bold: ⌘B (Mac) or Ctrl+B (Windows)
- Italic: ⌘I or Ctrl+I
- Underline: ⌘U or Ctrl+U
Block menu and focus
Click into a block to focus it. Some block types (for example dividers or galleries) expose a small menu for insert/delete behavior. If you delete a special block with Backspace, focus moves to the previous block so you can keep writing without reaching for the mouse.
Dark mode while writing
Use the theme control in the authoring toolbar to switch the editor between light and dark. This affects your editing comfort, not necessarily how the post renders to readers everywhere—that depends on the reader surface (email, web, profile).
